Matthew Crowley is a fine-art travel and nature photographer, based in the Northern Illinois area. He has traveled to many places for photography and frequents such areas as the Northwoods of Wisconsin, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, the West Coast, and the American Southwest.
Matthew has been into photography since he was able to hold a camera. His parents both had film SLRs that they would bring on their family vacations when he was growing up. He had his first film SLR camera when he was 14 years old. It was something he always enjoyed doing and something he could do well. A very big milestone for him was when he and his wife began to travel. Their first big trip was to Australia and New Zealand. The photos he got on that trip, and how they were received by others, made him really think that he would be able to do this as a profession.
Matthew officially started his photography business, Matthew Crowley Photography, in early 2011, but he has been photographing, with DSLRs now, since mid-2008. Matthew gets a great sense of accomplishment from photography. To a photographer, there is nothing more satisfying than knowing when you have caught the definitive moment. This moment in time is unique and memorable. Through photography, these moments can be cherished forever and appreciated by many. Whether it is a sunrise or sunset, the night sky or a wild creature in action there are definitive moments in everything. Matthew uses his skills and experience to capture the moment and turn the world into beautiful and unique works of art.
